Hi!

I am Sirkku. I’m living in an old wooden house in Koivuhaka of Vantaa, Finland, with my husband Jukka, my youngest, eleven-years-old daughter Tuuli, and, at the moment, with our six dogs – more specifically, pugs. One of them, Tumppi, was already six-years-old, when he joined us, but he has adapted really well with his new family. Also our black boy Hugo was already grown-up before he moved in. The youngest girls came to delight us up in the years 2007 and 2009. And at last but not least, our gorgeous cat, Simo, joined us in May 2008.

I am working at the Dog School Visio. My main job is to take care of puppy- and behaviour- courses in Vantaa area. As a training councellor I also have a great possibility to help Jitterpug-baby -owners to train their new family members in a right and gentle way.

Pugs have been a great part of my life since the 60’s, but in 1990 I started to “collect” them. Every year we took on one new baby (more about that on history page), until we finally had five lively boys swarming around our feet. At that time we started entering dog shows too, and some of our boys did very well in them. Tessi and Nuppu, our first girls, came into our life in 2002 and 2003. In 2005 they both birthed their first litters. The crowd is not growing very fast: Tessi's second litter did not consist any black girls (as a matter of fact any girls at all), but I got one of my wishes when Nuppu gave birth to sweet little Daisy, a fawn girl. Miisa, our black charming lady came from Sinimetsä.

Our dogs have a real 'dog’s life' here, as full members of the family, sharing everything with us – sometimes so eagerly that I have to push their noses and tails away from everywhere. Our large yard is an excellent place to run, or to just lie in sun. To keep our figures in good shape we still take a long walk almost every day, if the weather is good enough. My pugs are not very fond of cold or wet weather, rather preferring to remain on our soft sofa near the fire when it is raining cats and dogs outside.

Take a peek at our pugs at home through their own presentations on this Jitterpug’s Our Dogs pages or on Gallery pages.

Kennel Jitterpug breeds both black and fawn pugs. I strive to breed healthy, good-natured and racy pugs. Special attention goes to socializing puppies between the age of one- and eight-weeks-old. I aim to provide new pug owners with open-minded, active “babies”, with whom it is easy to continue training and living.

The litter born in March 2009 was the first Jitterpug-litter stimulated by following the instructions of the BioSensor-program. According to the test results puppies been stimulated in a special way during their first weeks, will be physically and mentally healthier and stronger than just normally way handled puppies.
